Are the British becoming a rude nation?

The increased introduction and wide use of new technologies have apparently reduced levels of politeness and civil behavior.

A recent Saga - the insurance and travel company – survey, has shown that over 20% of adults say they answer their phones whilst chatting with friends; 22% confess to increased swearing and 19% admit they carry on using/playing/talking on their phone while paying for goods in shops and supermarkets.

A high percentage also admits to keeping & using their phones at the dinner table and not lowering mobile phone volumes down on public transport.
