Tax avoidance or tax evasion...?

Allegedly, Margaret Hodge (Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee)'s family company pays just 0.01pc tax on £2.1bn of business generated in the UK leading to accusations of hypocrisy…

I do hope we don't all fall into the journalistic trap.

Tax avoidance & tax evasion are not similar bedfellows; although admittedly once an individual (or a company) enjoys the fruits of decent planning, clever accounting & fine advice to avoid (and save) tax, the 'advantages' of legal tax avoidance can often rather easily lead to tax evasion...
