Skype problems? There are options available...

VoIP provider Skype appears to be down for millions of users today and cyber-world led by Twitter is simply bursting with comments & complaints.

Many users complain of log-in problems & crashing programs - whether via mobile handsets or PCs. Apparently over 8 million people are unable to use the service at this time & many are looking on Twitter to try to ascertain the exact problem or express their disapproval.

Skype's Twitter account is silent on the subject so far.

Peter Parkes, communications lead at Skype, had the following to say on the issues; 'Some people may have problems signing in to Skype at the moment. We're investigating - apologies for the disruption. People can follow @skype on Twitter for updates'. Parkes added that he had no information on why the service was unavailable for some users but engineers were 'looking into it'.

However there are solutions available for UK users trying to make calls and contact friends and family overseas…
