CHEAPESTCHAT - FAQ
Q. How do I use CheapestChat?

A. To use CheapestChat you don't need to register. Simply call the recharge number 0904 971 0123 to credit your telephone number with £1. Follow the prompts, i.e. Press 1 to use your £1 credit from that number or Press 2 for instructions to transfer your £1 credit to any other landline or mobile.
Once credited - dial the access number 020 8497 0123 and follow the prompts.

Q. Why did my number fail to receive the £1 credit?

A. Firstly, ensure the number you want to credit is a valid UK number. It must start with 0 & may be a landline or mobile. Do not use a country code. It should be 10 or 11 digits long - for example: 02071234567. Do not use any other characters e.g. * or #.

Q. Are there any administration costs or fees when using CheapestChat?

A. The CheapestChat rates are all-inclusive. There is a one-off connection fee (rate varies) when the call abroad is answered but no further subscription costs etc. on top of the cost per minute, as advertised on our website. The advertised rates are fully inclusive of vat.

Q. What is the cost of a call to a 'Country'?

A. Please check all CheapestChat rates on the website. All rates are quoted per minute, include vat & are the cost of the International leg of the call.

Q. My destination does not appear when I check the rates list?

A. Then the International country rate will apply. For example: if a rate for CANADA MONTREAL does not appear on the list, then you will be charged the rate listed for CANADA when you call CANADA MONTREAL.

Q. Are there peak & off-peak rates for our £1 recharge & access number?

A. No. All our rates and charges are flat rate. The access number is local rate and the recharge number costs £1 every time you call to credit your telephone number from a home (or office) BT line. Check with your telephone provider, if not BT, how much they charge for the recharge number.

* or #.

Q. Can I use the CheapestChat access numbers outside the UK?

A. Our access numbers will only work in the United Kingdom. If you live abroad or if you are on holiday outside the UK you cannot make use of our services.

Q. I am a NTL or Virgin or Cable customer, can I use CheapestChat?

A. The CheapestChat access and recharge numbers can be used from most landlines including NTL or Telewest. The billing process for our access and recharge numbers works exactly the same as with BT; the charges will simply appear on your NTL or Telewest bill. NTL and Telewest should charge the same rates as BT for our access and recharge numbers. However if you would like to check their rates please visit the NTL or Telewest websites. Should you encounter a problem with your NTL or Telewest bill please contact them directly as they control the rates to our access and recharge numbers on their own billing systems.

Q. When do call charges take effect?

A. You will be charged the call rate from the moment you are connected to our service. This is to enable our customers to benefit from no registration, low prices and access from all networks, we unfortunately cannot change this. However, for your protection, should your call not be answered within two minutes, you will be informed by our operator and disconnected. There is a connection fee too, which applies from the moment your call is answered.

Q. Can I receive an itemised bill from CheapestChat?

A. We do not provide itemised call lists on this service. However, every time you call the 020 8497 0123 access number it will tell you the amount of remaining credit.

Q. I have been overcharged by CheapestChat

A. CheapestChat cannot overcharge you. The rates to our access numbers are set by Ofcom, the UK telecommunications regulator. It is common practice for all landline service providers to adhere to the charges set by Ofcom. However, the rates you are actually charged on your bill depend on the prices your service provider has configured on their billing system. We unfortunately have no influence on their billing system, nor do we receive a penny extra of any surcharge. In this eventuality, we advise you to contact your service provider to protest your bill. Should your service provider not settle the issue satisfactorily you can contact Ofcom - check their website for their number.

Q. How do I contact customer services?

A. In order to keep our prices so low, we do not have an expensive call centre. Any questions you may call us on our support line on 084 4545 9876 from 9:30am-5.00pm or email: info@cheapestchat.com.
